Prior Authorization Requests for Repetitive Scheduled Non-emergent Transports Documentation

Published 05/05/2022

Prior authorization request submissions for repetitive scheduled non-emergent transports are being received with documentation containing information for multiple beneficiaries in individual submissions.

For example, 10 pages are received, page six is for a different beneficiary. These additional pages must be removed from the documentation prior to review, leading to increased processing time. Providers are reminded to verify that each submission contains only one beneficiary’s information prior to submission. This will decrease the risk of exposing Personal Health Information (PHI). Documentation submitted should contain only information for the beneficiary listed on the Prior Authorization Request form.
