The federal Public Health Emergency (PHE) for COVID-19, declared under Section 319 of the Public Health Service Act, is set to expire at the end of the day on May 11, 2023. Some waivers and flexibilities available during the PHE may expire, others have been made permanent, and some have been extended. Providers should review the CMS Current Emergencies page for details as well as register for any upcoming Palmetto GBA webinars that will review available CMS guidance regarding the end of the COVID-19 PHE.
